Distance: 53Km | Total Ascent: 1360m
As we start from our Bikecenter we head north entering immediately an offroad section that leads us up to the village of Kato Drys. On our way we wlll be passing from the local "Halloumi" workshop where we can see how the typical Cyprus cheese is made. The route up to Kato Drys is mainly uphill but the great scenery pays off the effort. From Kato Drys we enter an asphalted section which leads to Lefkara, one of the nicest traditional villages in Cyprus. Lefkara is world known for its handmade lace and Silverware art. In Lefkara we can have a short break for refreshment or a coffee.
From Lekfara we will head direction east to Kornos, passing from Dipotamos Valley. Kornos is especially known for the craft of pottery, the reputation of which surpassed the borders of Cyprus and enjoys world-wide recognition. From there we head towards Dipotamos Dam, through some steep uphills but with some great scenery! There is a "lighter version" route that takes us through the valley back to the dam without any need to climb the steep hills After the dam, we enter Skarinou, a small traditional village, and then the road leads to Tochni. Just before we enter Tochni we could visit the archeological site of Choirokoitia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Cyprus. The Neolithic settlement of Choirokoitia, occupied from the 7th to the 4th millennium B.C., is one of the most important prehistoric sites in the eastern Mediterranean.
