Registrations are open for the O3 Olympus Man 2019, one of the toughest half-distance triathlon races in Europe. The athletes participating will be completing 109,6km with almost 3000m of total ascent. The race starts with swimming at thePaphos Municipality Baths and finishes on the peak of Olympus, approximately 2000m over the sea level.
This year’s race will take place on Saturday, November 16 th and once again, a lot of aspiring Olympus conquerοrs are expected to participate.In last year’s race, Alex Fortune broke the race time record, completing the distance in 5 hours, 51 minutes and 31 seconds. So the super-athletes will have an extra motive this year, breaking the previous record and become the ultimate Olympus Men.
The race begins with a 1,9km swim in Paphos Municipal Baths. As soon as they get off the water, the athletes will be riding their bikes for 86km, from Paphos to the Troodos Square. The last part of the race consists 21km of running, finishing on the peak of Olympus passing through Artemis and Atalanti trails. The cycling and the running sections of OlympusMan are amongst the hardest routes in triathlon races
since they ascent totally 3000m.
