Starting from Paphos Municipality Baths, the ultimate ultra-endurance race, O3 Olympus Man 2018, ends on Olympus’ highest peak, on Troodos Mountain. The triathlon race takes place for the fourth consecutive year, on November 17th 2018, and the registrations are already open for the athletes who will be attempting to conquer the Cyprus mountains.
The Ο3 Olympus Man race falls under the Half distance categories and it is the most difficult and demanding triathlon race in Cyprus due to its total ascent that the participants will have to climb. Races with similar difficulty are very rare, and are carried out only in selected places in Europe. The participants will be covering 109.6km, with the Paphos Municipality Baths as the starting point, completing their attempts on the highest peak of Olympus, Troodos.
Courses and categories
The race starts with 1.9km of swimming, following by 86km of cycling towards Troodos with a 2.600m of elevation and the last part, in which the athletes will be running a half marathon – 21km – in the wonderful and mesmerizing trails of Troodos, in order to reach the highest peak of Cyprus. The ultra-athletes will cover all those kilometres enjoying meanwhile the magical beauties and landscapes of the Cyprus nature.
Men and Women competing in the ultimate triathlon race will be separated into two categories. The Sport Category addresses men and women from 18-39 years old. The Masters Category addresses athletes from the age of 40 and above. There will also be a team category consisted by two or three athletes for team participations.
